How To Convince Your Parents To Get You A Puppy-Dog
Before you ask your parents to buy you a dog, make sure you know what you are talking about. Try to learn all you can about dogs, the different breeds, caring for a dog, the price of one, some tricks they can learn, the different types of sports they can participate in, or just some cool facts. Know that this will be your responsibility, and not anyone else’s including your parents. (unless they decide it is the family’s dog and not just yours)
There are several reasons why your parents may not want a dog:
• Dogs cost money.
• They are a lot of work.
• They need long-term commitment.
• Some people are allergic to dogs.
• Some people don’t like dogs.
The costs of a dog include:
• the original purchase price
• veterinarian bills
• food
• obedience classes
• other things that the dog needs, such as leashes and toys
